Corporate and Commercial Law

  • This Department is headed by Daniël Schoeman.

    Generally, Corporate and Commercial law involves the following:

    • Company law as regulated by the Companies Act;
    • General Commercial law as regulated by certain acts and the common law;
    • Enterprise law, which addresses the different forms of enterprises;
    • Law of Contract;
    • Law pertaining to leases;
    • Credit agreements;
    • Insurance law;
    • Sureties;
    • Consumer Protection;
    • Any other matter of a commercial nature.
